“Carolina Wren Wildlife Journal Sketch” is an original

I love getting out of my studio with a sketchbook journal, pen, and simple set of gouache to create quick sketches in the field. The created work is far from being “just right.” Most of my quick sketches are off color, and out of proportion but the end results of my work intrigue and please me. Simple sketches and scribbled scratched notes become an interesting composition.

Recently I have been thumbing through some of my bird field sketch journals and have pulled a few of my favorites to offer up to sale. I am offering several of the pages from one of my bird sketch journals. Most of the avian subjects in these pages are species that often visit the cypress pond just out of my studio window.
