Seeing Phoebes in the area during early September is a sign that the fall migration has begun. Phoebes and American Kestrels are usually the first migrant bird species that I have observed to start filtering down from the north into our region. Even though I love summer and hot weather, the little energetic Phoebe is a welcome sight and reminder that a change of season is on its way. |
