(Anole Lizard - Anolis carolinensis porcatus)
Anoles live in a variety of habitats, many of which are shared with humans. I have a number of them that live on or around my porch. Many folks misname the anole as a chameleon. Their colors do vary from brown to green, but their color changing abilities are poor compared those of true chameleons. Anoles are great fly and insect catchers. Many times I have seen them stalk, attack, and eat common house flies that love to land on my porch railings. |
